David, 28, is the co-founder and CEO of RentJuice, the leading rental marketing technology for property owners and real estate brokers. Inman News named RentJuice one of “5 Companies Paving the Way in Real Estate Technology & Innovation.” He was also named to the 2012 Forbes “30 under 30” list of “up-and-coming stars under the age of 30” in real estate.
David launched RentJuice in 2009 with co-founder Kunal Shah, the former vice president of technology at Connected Ventures, an IAC/InterActiveCorp-owned company that produced leading online brands like CollegeHumor, Busted Tees and Vimeo. At RentJuice, David focuses on growing and managing his 30-person team to make leasing properties online easy for real estate professionals.
David relies heavily on his career experience in Internet technology and his rental property management DNA, having grown up managing several apartment buildings in Miami Beach, Florida. Before RentJuice, David evaluated consumer Internet investments on behalf of Mayfield Fund, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm. He was also a management associate reporting to the global CEO and vice president of interactive on new product development and business development projects at IDG Communications, the publishers behind 300 trade magazines and 400 websites.
David holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School, where he initially conceived and built the first RentJuice prototype, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard College. A thought leader in rentals and technology, he has appeared in leading publications such as Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Portfolio.com and the Chicago Tribune. He proudly rents an apartment from a RentJuice customer in the Mission Dolores area of San Francisco.
