John Skrabec
Being a creative soul at heart, John Skrabec started his career as a budding architect, earning two degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder in environmental design and marketing. After years in the creative arts, John flexed his “entrepreneurial muscles” and in 1990 founded Cactus Marketing Communications, one of Denver’s premier ad agencies. Along the way, John was elected President of Denver’s Advertising Federation, President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and was named one of Denver’s “40 Under 40″ by the Denver Business Journal.
After a decade of success in advertising and design, he applied his award-winning marketing knowledge and business experience to real estate. Following his love of historic properties, he began a career as a Realtor in the urban neighborhoods of Denver. Working with buyers and sellers since 2001, he’s earned sales recognition from the Denver Board of Realtor’s Roundtable since 2005.
Along with business partner Mark White, he founded LIVE Urban Real Estate in 2006. John created the LIVE Urban brand, and directs all of LIVE’s marketing, advertising and PR efforts. The brokerage, which has grown to 50 agents specializing in urban Denver’s city-close neighborhoods, asks buyers and sellers “Where Do You Want To LIVE?”
Meanwhile, he’s renovated four homes in Denver’s up-and-coming Berkeley neighborhood, appeared on DIY Network’s “Sweat Equity”, and stays busy experimenting in the kitchen, skiing at Winter Park Colorado, scooting the ‘hood on his Vespa, and trying to keep up with his 12-year-old son.
